Secrets on the Italian Island by T.A. Williams

This book captured my attention with its dramatic start, likeable heroine, exotic setting and enjoyable romance. What more could you want? It is 'light and fluffy' but also the next best thing to travelling to Elba!

The book begins when Anna is high above a mine shaft in Cornwall hanging on for dear life. She is a geologist, and no price is too high for the work that she loves. However, she is 29 now, and growing tired of all the travelling involved, which is affecting her relationships. When she goes back to her mother's place, she meets a childhood friend again, and finds herself very attracted to him. He is a handsome, 'nice' young man. However, she has to leave him to check out possible mines in Elba.

Anna has to pretend that she is a tourist, and she becomes extremely conflicted when she meets Marco, a sexy Italian who is also an environmentalist, and very much against mining on the island. It is even worse when she makes friends with an old Canadian man who lives there, and bitterly regrets making money from being a mining executive. Now she has a secret...

She also has a choice between being 'Sensible Anna' with Toby, the Englishman, or 'Wild Anna' with Marco...

I really enjoyed this.

I received this free ebook from NetGalley in return for an honest review.
