A Cottage in the Country by Katie Fforde

I always like Katie Fforde’s books - they’re sweet holiday reading. i enjoyed this one but I thought that it was too long and seemed to fizzle out at the end - I got a bit tired of it. The main character Hattie is lovely and like a mother hen with her concern for Fiona who she saves from marrying a creep and Mary, whose son wants to put her in a nursing home. He makes an excellent villian! Independent and practical, Hattie has a helpful friend called Luke. The development of the romance is well-done.

I would read some of hers again but not this one.

I received this free ebook from Net Galley in return for an honest review.
