Troubled Times at Harpers A tale of hope, dreams and survival from Rosie Clarke by Rosie Clarke

This was an enjoyable and easy read about three women who work in a London department store in the 1930s and it included a moving love story. Sally, the heart and soul of Harpers, worries about her husband who has gone to America to investigate his cousin’s fraudulent dealings. Beth becomes caught-up with a gangster when her neighbour needs help. Young Ruby, practical and innocent, hates living in a boarding-house with a tartar for a landlady, falls in love with an older man suffering from shell shock.

I will be interested in the next installment of this series.

I received this free ebook from NetGalley in return for an honest review.
