The Martins David Foenkinos, Sam Taylor (Translated)

Suffering from writer’s block, the author of this story within a story, decides to write about a random person in the street. Madame Tricot invites him in for tea and then he meets the Martins. Martin is apparently a surname as common as Smith in France but as he becomes increasingly involved in their lives, he realises that no family is ordinary.

This is such a fresh and unusual idea. I loved the writing and the characters in this book. Although it is a quick read, it’s the kind of book that you don’t want to finish and you want to know what else happens to the family! I will definitely look for more books by this author.

I received this free ebook from Edelweiss in return for an honest review.
