Dear Miss Perkins A Story of Frances Perkinss Efforts to Aid Refugees from Nazi Germany by Rebecca Brenner Graham

This is a well-researched, meticulous account of how Franes Perkins, the first woman in the US Cabinet and the Secretary of Labour did an enormous amount to help German Jewish immigrants, especially child immigrants during the 1930s and 40s in spite of of huge opposition. Unfortunately, her impeachent charges over her helping Harry Bridges, the Australian labour leader, sounded the death-knell for her career.

This was an interesting story but I found it a bit academic and dry.

I read this free ebook for NetGalley in return for an honest review.
