Murder in Mayfair by Verity Bright

 Lady Eleanor Swift is always a delight. I’d like to read the whole series in order! In this one, the intrepid red-haired Ellie spots a murder after taking off in a balloon at the Expo in London. Her lovely fiance, Chief Inspector Seldon doesn’t want her to get involved for various reasons, including high-level powers, but that doesn’t deter her. In another case, she is asked by an acquantance to pretend to be a governess to find out who stole a necklace. 

This is a fast-paced fun mystery with some interesting historical background. I would have liked some notes at the end.
