End Game by Jeffrey Archer

Another fabulous detective story from the imitable Jeffrey Archer, featuring our old friends William Warwick and his adversary Miles Faulkner. When Artemisia asks her father William, now head of security for the 2012 London Olympics, what trouble he is expecting, he tells her that if he knew that he wouldn’t expect any trouble! As the seven-year lead-up builds, tension builds and Warwick has to keep one step ahead as he attempts to figure out what attacks to expect, and what Miles Faulkner is up to? Could it be anything to do with a Van Gogh painting at the Russian Embassy? This book never fails to be exciting as Warwick and his fellow officers Ross, Rebecca and Jackie have to deal with one situation after another. Even better, several of them are based on real events and the reader is asked to guess which ones actually happened.

I also liked the stories about the character’s children, especially the innovative Artemisia, and the dry humour. There are a few romantic happy endings, but one very sad one. Archer’s sub-plots are always enjoyable!

I received this free ebook from NetGalley in return for an honest review.
