The Italian Correspondent: A thrilling post-war time mystery from the bestselling author of THE MASTERPIECE, for readers of Fiona McIntosh, Natasha Lester and Kate Quinn by Belinda Alexandra

Veronica, hardened and emotionally numb after the horrors of war, is now working for Vogue in an Italy which is becoming glamorous and the ‘in place’. Her estranged friend has stolen her husband so she decides to concentrate on work but when a sophisticated, handsome archeologist comes back into her life, she falls in love all over again. However, when her ex-husband is murdered, she has to discover the truth.

This spy mystery/ love story is enjoyable and riveting and the description of the traumas of the war in Italy were excellent but some of it was fairly unbelievable and I also wondered whether Belinda Alexandra tried to do too much in one book. I am a big fan, though, and I’ve read most of her novels.

I received this free ebook from NetGalley in return for an honest review.
