Joyful, Anyway Finding Delight in Impossible Times by Kate Bowler

I found the beginning of this book about the author’s cancer extremely moving. I was a bit disappointed in the rest of the book, however. It’s filled with moving quotes but it’s very meandering with several anecdotes about the author’s life. They are interesting, but the book seems rather disjointed, which makes it difficult to read, unfortunately. There’s much truth in her analysis of toxic positivity and the myth of the American Dream, but it’s also quite depressing!

I received this book from NetGalley in return for an honest review.
