 Dr. Mehdi Mostamand, inspired by Rumi, decided to devote his life to eradicating blindness among children in Afghanistan. Through many obstacles, such as struggles with money, and the Soviet invasion, the doctor helped the children at his eyecare centre in Herat, mostly suffering from a simple infection, trauchoma, which was easily treated.The doctor eventually oversaw the growth of a large treatment centre, which gained international  attention and help  He also provided for a large family, never easy, and inspired his children by his excellent example. 

This was an incredibly inspiring and interesting story written by the doctor's son. Hopefully, it will help others to find their own purpose in life, and to read Rumi.
