Talking with Angel about Illness, Death and Survival. Roundfire Books Fiction. Talking with Angel about Illness, Death and Survival by Evelyn Elsaesser

I once read a book by Dorothy Rowe who wrote how acceptance of death is all-important in the way that we live our lives. This book will help people overcome the fear of death, and it is especially suitable for people who have terminal illnesses, even children. I found it a bit traumatic and harrowing, but the description of a young boy's NDE and the way that it changes him is quite beautiful.

The young heroine has leukemia. She is extremely depressed at first, and the harsh medical treatment she suffers makes mer more unhappy. She also hates seeing her parents so upset, and losing her beautiful hair is awful. However, she comes to an acceptance of her fate by talking to her doll, Angel, who helps her with rather difficult questions. She also learns about her friend James's NDE, and the love and beauty in the 'other world'. This helps her face death more easily.

Some of the philosophy seemed New Agey, rather than Christian, but you will feel better about death after reading it. It also made me interested in reading Evelyn Elsaesser's other books.

I received this free ebook from Collective Ink in return for an honest review.
