Design For Your Mind How a Family Caregiver and Mental Health Therapist Renovated Her Home to Recharge Her Life - and Didn't Break the Bank by Annie Guest
This is a lovely book about how Annie Guest transformed her parent’s home into a sanctuary for herself and her guests after they died. She combined modern design techniques with antiques and vintage furniture so that she could honour their memories, creating a more welcoming and brighter look. Some of the rooms are still very formal, though, especially the four-poster bedroom and the living-room. I like it but it may not be to everyone’s taste.
I liked the way that Annie Guest described exactly how she decorated each room, and the ‘before’ and ‘after’ photos. She includes lots of tips which will be helpful to anyone looking for design ideas. This book is especially useful for those wanting to start a ‘new life,’ after their parents or their husband has passed away.
I received this free ebook from NetGalley in return for an honest review.
