Death in Daylesford by Kerry Greenwood

When intrepid Miss Phryrne Fisher together with her trusty friend Dot travel to a retreat for shell-shocked soldiers in country Victoria, they are unsure what awaits. They are horrified to find that there are missing women and they also have to deal with three murders. Most occur right in front of Phyrne!

This was somewhat darker than most of the Phyrne Fisher books, I thought, with odder characters, I thought, but it was still fun with descriptions of beautiful scenery, Phyrne's to-die-for clothes, and scrumptious food. Phryne and Dot had a pretty good time in-between their investigations! Dot plays a big part in the story, I was please to see. I would really rather have one murder, though. It got a bit confusing. I also used to like the bibliographies at the back of the books, and there isn't one in this novel.

I received this free ebook from NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Over the last 15 months, we haven't left this suburb, let alone go on holiday to a town like Daylesford. Yet when I look back over my blog posts, I found many written about beautiful, relaxed Daysleford. What a perfect spot for a Fisher novel.

I am so sorry for the delay in publishing your comment, Hels. We have not gone very far either, since almost being stranded in Italy! I have been to your beautiful city of Melbourne, but I haven't been to Daylesford. I read another book set there last year by Vanessa Carnevale, which I enjoyed.
