The Postmistress of Paris : A Novel Meg Waite Clayton
Beautiful and rebellious American heiress Nanee finds herself caught up in the Nazi whirlwind sweeping Europe, but going back to America is not for her. Instead, courageous Nanee helps intrepid Varian Fry and his strange Surrealist group of artists as they assist refugees leaving France, becoming a messenger for him in the seedy streets of Marseille. But can she help save an important prisoner and find his young daughter? Although many details have been changed, this inspirational novel is based on the true story of Varian Fry and Mary Jayne Gold.
I defy any reader not to brought to tears by this tale of huge bravery and moving love story told in Meg Waite Clayton's luminous writing! I can't wait to read more of this wonderful author's books. She also provides an interesting note about Varian Fry and Mary Jayne Gold.
I received this free ebook from Edelweiss.plus in return for an honest review.
